@@marciawaldenRobin’s cancer was not in remission. While he was taking treatments he and the doctors thought for a while that he was going to survive the cancer but later they knew that there was no hope.
His voice remained solid even if his body was weak. Such a great artist, lovingly missed and forever cherished.
His voice was still the same fantastic.robin u just did fantastic darling so brilliant thanks so much for the song u never let us down

Yes. It was a playback. Poor Robin had become So very ill. Even his speaking voice had changed. Such a wonderful human being. So sorry that he had to suffer. But Robin stayed committed to the causes that he believed in. RIP sweet man.🙏
As a teenager I had such a crush on Robin, as an adult I have such respect and admiration for him. I'm actually sobbing watching this. There will never be another Robin Gibb. Although he is in heaven with Maurice and Andy, their music will live on forever! ♥

Isn't Robin the MOST CLASS ACT EVER???? Here he is, obviously weak, struggling to keep going and he uses the few remaining drops of his energy thinking about others (the soldiers who protect us) and how he can bless them? What a wonderful, generous human being! Robin, I SO WISH I could hug you! I'm so glad to know you are in heaven and someday I will meet you, and other loved ones.
I love that about Robin. He was indeed a very caring soul. A very humble person from what I know of him. I wish there were more people like Robin Gibb in this world.

Robin obviously was not in the best of health when he sang with the soldiers but this just shows what a fantastic person he was not just for his voice but for his humility for other people. This man was pure decency to everyone he came in contact with and will be missed not just for a while but forever. He was the best there was and ever will be.

It broke my heart to see him so fraile. He was so kind and he and his brothers always donated to charities. Such a wonderful family that were always very humble!
Aww bless Robin Gibb! He was a very strong guy. Cancer, pneumonia (falling into a coma that he eventually came out of), multiple sugeries, and losing his twin brother didn't stop Robin from wanting to live life to the fullest. Never once did he have a woe-is-me attitude! xx

Eventhough Robin was very ill , he still had an amazing voice and still had the guts to sing with the soldiers.I salute Robin, he was like the soldiers brave enough to accept his illness and not ashame to face the world having that frail body...but he had still a sweet and beautiful smile.We love Robin..RIP.
I read somewhere that he was lip singing on this show. One of the rare times he was not really singing live.

@@lynnpiel9291 I think it is very clear to see that Robin is singing live -- just watch the motion of his throat and the way he clenches his fists and closes his eyes. He is truly giving it his all. And this performance meant SO much to him -- there is an interview with him that took place shortly before this show, and Robin said how determined he was to do this cover and that "nothing would stop him." 💔

He has come into my life in a very mysterious but beautiful way. I've always loved the Bee Gees but lately I'm thinking so much of all of them, especially Robin. What a beautiful person and soul.

What an amazing performance. Incredibly moving as Robin passed away the following year. I will always love the BEE GEES and enjoy listening to them every day.

My poor Robin, suffered so much in his life and was carried away by this damn disease. He was so kind, gentle, gentlemanly and intelligent. He was way ahead of his time. I feel that he was very wronged, no one understood him, not even Barry.
I hope Robin knew how much he was loved by fans. 💔 😭
He was the most intelligent and thoughtful of the four brothers for sure. With his free spirited nature it’s little wonder he found his life partner in Dwina. Robin had the sweetest falsetto and vibrato I think I’ve ever heard. God rest his soul.

We need a world full of Robins,such kindness and thinking of others, when he is so sick, the strength it must have taken to do this , he songs will live on forever..RIP Robin...

RICK J ....I've recently read some articles written by persons who either spoke, interviewed or worked with Robin during his last hard months before his death....and All speak so highly of Robins 'resolve' and how he Never portrayed himself as a victim....I have to say that Robin has blown me completely away.. by his sheer inner-strength and determination to carry on even right in the midst of his darkest times!.....Sooo much love and respect for this beautiful man!.........Oh, Robin!

I felt like I wanted to hold Robin in my arms. What an inspiration to cancer sufferers RIP Rob...
This interview took place approx. 7 months prior to his death. It's obvious cancer started taking its toll on him. And to see him showing soldiers honor and respect was very humble of him to do so as he new he was dieing himself. It was his way of saying thank you before he was about to depart this world. His sensitivity to the soldiers and veterans having never served himself says so much about the man he was. His many other interviews shows such a humble funny man always making lite of situations. He was such a good human being, credit goes to his parents Hugh and Barbara who with so very little themselves in the 1940's gave thier children love and and a precious upbringing. Awesome family!

I read an interview with him where he said, despite the cancer, he actually felt really good. I've never heard anyone say that (!) but he does seem quite upbeat and relaxed. A great talent, still miss him.
Seeing him like this tears my heart out but at the same time gives me immense respect for him. What a strong man! I'm very sure he did it because its what he loved and it's what kept him going. RIP to you songbird. I imagine there's a huge concert and you're performing with your beautiful brothers. I hope you all know how much you're still loved back here!

Even with him being ill at that time u can still see the passion he still had for his music. I love how he expresses his love for music when he is singing. I saw an interview on here with The Bee Gees where Barry stated in that interview is our music is like our baby we take our music very seriously. Reminded me of how robin sang his heart out with so much loved singing one of my many favorite songs from The Bee Gees got to get a message to you. Of cause the bee gees music is like a bag of lays potato chips u can’t eat only one chip.💞

Angela Nazzario , Barry did say in an interview that Robin had written this song. He said he brought it into the studio. He also said, "Who writes about that?" Sweet Robin did and it became in the top 5 of their fan's favorite songs. I love and miss you, Robin. Rest In Peace. ❤️🌹❤️

I just watched this inspirational and very moving video with Robin and just burst into tears because he NEVER GAVE UP even though he was so ill at this time and this performance of Robin also reminded me of Freddie Mercury and he kept recording music because it kept him motivated to fight AIDS and he kept fighting because of his fans love and support for Queen and his love of his fans and watching Freddie’s last video “These are the days of our lives, was his message to his fans that he loved them and his goodbyes and it had to take so much courage and strength for them to do these masterpieces when they both knew that they both were terminally ill. RIP Robin and Freddie.
So sad to see Robin like this but credit to him for getting behind this great cause. RIP Robin
